Have you heard that Microsoft Dynamics® GP 2010 R2 comes with a set of “out of the box” Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SRS) reports?  Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 has been developed with a full set of methods to use these SRS Reports, Charts, and KPIs every day.  Here are 5 of those options:

1)    Reporting Services Reports Lists
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 now includes a Reporting Services Reports List for each module, including Financial, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Human Resources and Payroll.  These lists make it easy to see and run all of the SRS reports deployed for each module.

2)    Home Page Metrics
Microsoft Dynamics GP allows each user to define their favorite SRS Charts, Graphs, and KPIs.  These are viewed immediately when logging into Microsoft Dynamics GP on the home page.  The SRS Charts, Graphs, and KPIs are a subset of the full suite of SRS reports available for deployment with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2.

3)    Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Business Analyzer
The
Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 Business Analyzer can be used by Microsoft Dynamics GP users and non-users alike.  This tool is another great way to view the SRS Charts, Graphs, and KPIs that come with Microsoft Dynamics GP.  The interface has options for a primary report area, a secondary report area, and a report slide show to allow each user to customize how they want to see their preferred reports.

4)    Microsoft SharePoint
The Reporting Tools Setup in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 has a feature to deploy SRS reports directly to your SharePoint Site.  This feature allows an easy and quick way to share the out of the box Microsoft Dynamics GP SRS reports with various people in your organization.

5)    Native Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Site
The Reporting Tools Setup in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 also allows you to deploy the SRS reports to the Report Manager URL that is defined in the Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager.  With this method, users can generate reports by browsing to the SRS Report Manager website deployed on your SQL server.

Once you become familiar with the myriad of options available to use the SRS features in Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2, you will find that users can take advantage of the combination of SQL technology and Microsoft Dynamics GP across your organization.  In addition, the 11 SRS Report Models provided with Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010 R2 make it easy to customize the SRS reports and unlock the power of your ERP system!
