I am asked frequently why a company should move from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics GP. QuickBooks is a good entry-level application for a small business when they start out. We regularly move people from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics GP and here is a short list of why most of our clients have moved:

  1. Security and Compliance – once the owner of the business is no longer doing the accounting it’s time to move.
  2. Reporting and Analytics – Microsoft Dynamics GP has over 700 out of the box reports. QuickBooks has about 100.
  3. Multiple departments or lines of business – you need greater ability to centralize and integrate your data.
  4. Performance – If you need to sacrifice your transaction history to achieve acceptable performance it’s time to move.

Additionally, Microsoft Dynamics GP provides industry-leading functionality across financials, distribution, service, manufacturing, human resources and more. Microsoft Dynamics GP runs on the Microsoft SQL Server database, which has proven scalability for hundreds of concurrent users, and allows those users to work simultaneously throughout the same or different areas of the application. You can empower employees to gain deep business insight and share information across the organization by giving them the right information, in the right format, with the tools they use every day. Finally, with numerous integration tools available, you can integrate Microsoft Dynamics GP with countless other internal systems. The key is to eliminate double entry and extra work.

QuickBooks meets a need in the marketplace but don’t let yourself be stuck with a solution that can’t grow and change with your business. If you are experiencing these limitations today give us a call!
